The Council of the Zoological Society much regret to acquaint you of the Death on June 27th last of their former Secretary, regarding whom they have passed the following Resolution

The Council desire to record their sincere regret at the death of Philip Lutley Sclatee, who had been a Fellow for sixty-three years and a Member of the Council continuously from 1857 to 1902, and their high appreoiation of his distinguished Services to Zoological Science as an original worker in Ornithology, Zoological Geography and Mammalogy, as an unwearied and kindly helper of other workers in every brauch of Zoology, and as Secretary of the Society for a period of forty-three years, from 1859 to 1902.
