Summary:
Eduard Rüppell (1794-1884) was a German scientist, researcher, co-founder and second director of the Senckenberg Society of Nature Research. During his travels, he collected items which formed the foundation of the Senckenberg Museum. Parts of his estate are preserved in other Frankfurt Institutions, i.e. the History Museum of Frankfurt.
